statforclinicians

About

statforclinicians helps clinicians who do research pick the right statistical test or model in two minutes, understand why, avoid the mistakes reviewers catch, and write it up.

Who it is for

Residents, clinical PhD candidates and specialists with strong clinical knowledge, limited statistics, and no statistician at hand.

What is free, what is Pro

The test chooser, every method page and the regression models guide are free. Pro adds a methods paragraph generator, an R or SPSS script generator and a reporting checklist per study design.

About the maker

I am Daniel Wolff, a student of Applied Mathematics at TU Delft and a maths tutor. I started this site to help fellow students and researchers with the difficult starting point of every research project: knowing which statistical method fits your question, and why.

I am not a physician and not a professional biostatistician. That is why every recommendation is tied to a cited source, and why the site says clearly where a statistician is needed.

How the content is made

The decision tree and the method pages are based on textbooks and papers, listed under Sources. Drafts were prepared with the help of AI tools. The decision tree was checked against the cited sources. Method pages marked as not yet reviewed are drafts that have not been checked line by line. The paragraphs and scripts you generate come from fixed templates, not from a language model.

What it is not

Decision support, not a substitute for a statistician. Check every result against your own data and design, and talk to a statistician about anything that does not fit. See advanced topics for when to do that.
